Born and raised in Northglenn, Colo., Linzy earned a master’s of professional studies in publishing degree from The George Washington University in 2015. She graduated from the Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. While at Metro, Linzy gained valuable experience from internships that she had with a local newspaper as well as with an online magazine.

During the summer of 2010, Linzy interned at the Loveland Reporter-Herald in the special sections department. She wrote primarily for the paper’s weekly real estate section and for their monthly health magazine, Health Line. A year later, she began an internship with Nvate magazine. The magazine highlights innovative products, businesses and technology. As her internship came to an end, Linzy was offered a position with the magazine as a staff writer. After a few months, Linzy was promoted to editor. Linzy also gained experience by writing for her school’s paper, The Metropolitan, during the spring 2011 semester. She wrote weekly feature stories as well as covered student government and student organizations.

As the editor of Nvate, Linzy developed creative and relevant story ideas that helped the magazine garner readership and find its niche in the market. She worked one-on-one with interns to ensure they get the most out of their internship as they developed their own story ideas, and adhered to deadlines. Linzy built Nvate’s credibility by editing stories in accordance to AP Style, grammar, clarity and factuality.

Linzy is working in the marketing department at a local urgent care.

In her free time Linzy enjoys keeping in shape, listening to music, playing with her dogs, and watching cricket. Linzy has run four marathons and enjoys the thrill of long distance running. Pictured above is Linzy in her two favorite places, New York City and Australia.
